Zeldon King “Zed” Griffiths of Liberty, Idaho, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2019 at 95 years of age.
He was born December 7, 1923 to Alice Albertie Griffeth Griffiths and Frederick Griffiths in Treasureton, Idaho. He grew up in Treasureton on the family farm learning the value of hard work. During World War II he served in the European Theatre. After returning from Germany, while on furlough, he married his sweetheart Dorothy Dean Povey in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Logan Temple on August 9, 1945.
Following his military service, he moved his family to Montpelier, Idaho, and started a glass shop called “Zed’s Glass & Paint.”
Later he contracted for the United States Postal Service driving the daily mail from Montpelier to Pocatello for several years.
He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in many callings. One of his favorites was serving in the Logan Temple with his wonderful wife Dorothy.
He is survived by his wife Dorothy and their children a son, Kay (Susan) Griffiths of Cedar City Utah, daughter Eldena (Dean) Grover of Star Valley, Wyoming, son Allen (Sheila) Griffiths of Pocatello, daughter Karen (David) Snyder of Pocatello, daughter LaNae (Randy) Parkin of Pocatello, Idaho, 26 Grandchildren, 86 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, Fred (Joan) Griffiths of Salt Lake City, Utah.
Prior to service, there will be a viewing from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Funeral will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 24,, 2019, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints chapel located in Liberty, Idaho.
