On January 21, 2019, Harry William Landfair passed away at the age of 74. Bill was born on October 20, 1944 in New Kensington, PA to Harry William Landfair and Laura Ruth Gallagher. In 1967, he married Linda Hogue and they raised a daughter, Paula, and 5 sons, Benno, Edward, Craig, John, and Derek. In 1980, he married Sharon Oliver and they raised a daughter Leanna, and a son, Kegan. In 2007 he married Robin Tyler.
Bill served in the Army Air Corp. He worked for Bell Telephone for several years in Pennsylvania, and then worked as a timber faller in Montana. After a major career change, he became a potter, and for the last 38 years has loved the creativity and friendships that brought into his life. His pottery business, Granite Lake Pottery, thrived for years in New Hampshire. After moving to Idaho, he started Raft River Pottery and had a studio in his home in Georgetown. He could frequently be found fishing during any season, or cutting firewood which he generously distributed to anyone who needed it.
Bill was preceded in death by his father, Harry, his mother, Laura, and his son Craig. He is survived by his wife Robin, his sisters Carol Taylor and Susan Davidson, his first wife Linda Coles and their children Paula Truby, Benno Landfair, Edward Landfair, John Landfair, and Derek Landfair, and his second wife Sharon Oliver and their children Leanna Landfair, and Kegan Landfair and many other relatives and friends. `
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Georgetown, Idaho. Services will begin at 12:00 pm.
