Elva Mae Curless Passey Malcolm, was born Sept. 13, 1921, the second child of four born to Ella Scheidegger and Daniel Curless.
The four children were divided among the grandparents in 1930 when her mother died of complications after childbirth. Elva and Alvin were raised by their Scheidegger grandparents at Paris. Gene and Ina were raised at Fish Haven by the Curless grandparents.
After high school Elva was a receptionist and nurse for Dr. Spencer Rich. She married Truel Passey 1941. She worked at Beck’s and Chick’s Conoco in Paris and Broulims in Montpelier. Truel passed away in 1973 and Elva married David Malcolm in 1975. Dave passed away in 2000. Elva was a resident at the Skilled Nursing Facility for fifteen years.
Elva was preceded in death by her parents and all three siblings and both husbands. Survived by children: Grant Passey of Paris, Roy and Phyllis Passey of Montpelier, Roger and Marsha Passey of Montpelier, and Margean and Roy Viken of Boise, nineteen grandchildren, a multitude of great grandchildren and a sprinkling of great, great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be April 27, 2019 at 12:00 pm in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Paris Stake Center with a viewing from 10:00 – 11:45 am prior to Services.
