Carl Clark Obituary

Carl Josiah Clark joined our army of guardian angels on August 21, 2019. Carl, Big Joe to those who knew him, was born May 1, 1957 in Logan, UT to Carl Andrew and Nancy Colleen Clark. Big Joe was the oldest of five children, and spent a majority of his life in Montpelier, ID. In 1979 Big Joe married T.J Fife becoming dad to her son Michael. There were five children born into this union before it dissolved. Big Joe went on to marry Amanda Loertscher in 2003 adding not only three stepchildren, but another little girl to our large family before this union dissolved. Big Joe helped his father run Roadrunner Tire and Diesel Repair in Montpelier, ID and ran the business for many years once his father retired. It was common to see Big Joe at the Ranch Hand Truck Stop enjoying coffee many times a week, always arriving and leaving in his trusty green Ford. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping. A true lover of the outdoors, there isn’t a trail that he and his Ford hadn’t explored in the Bear Lake Valley. Big Joe was proceeded in death by his parents, Carl Andrew Clark and Nancy Colleen (Anderson) Clark, brother Ralph Allen Clark, and sister Tammy Lynn (Clark) Stumpp. Big Joe lives on in the heart of those that were closest to him. His children: Michael Fife II, Jeramia and Amber Clark, Brandie Callahan and partner, OnaLee and Gary Tucker, Josiah and Chantil Clark, Mariah and Zacherey Nowland, Shayden Clark, Damien Winger, Tristin Winger, Alex Dunn, and Morgan Alleman. His sister Penny Salerno, brother James Clark, ex-wives Thelma Lema and Amanda Loertscher, numerous grandchildren, and the many children he claimed as his throughout the years. Big Joe although large in stature was small compared to the size of his heart. A result of his large heart and loving nature, he was always someone’s favorite Uncle, it was not uncommon for the neighbor kids to ask if Big Joe could come out to play. Big Joe will be dearly missed by all of those who knew and loved him. We are forever grateful that we have him watching over us from above. There will be a celebration of life announced at a later date and time.
